Shaykh Ismail Londt, one of South Africa’s foremost Qur’anic scholars, will be hosted in Durban by the Institute for Learning and Motivation – South Africa (ILM-SA) from 24 to 26 May. Shaykh Ismail holds numerous ‘ijaazaat (traditional certification) in the field of tajweed and qiraa’ah and is currently co-imam at Auwal Masjid in the Bo-Kaap. He is also the founding director of the DU Centre, an institution focusing on hifdh and the further development of huffaadh, as well as the head of the Department of Qur’anic Affairs of the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC).
